pleeeeease tell me that something is going to cover the metal which being clad over every surface of the building !! I live across the road and the sun will reflect terribly off those shiny surfaces, not to mention that in the artists impression of the finished result, these surfaces are black not silver.
Also when is it expected to be finished? They said 18 months and that is pretty much now... it has been a terrible nightmare for those of us so close!

Thank you for your comments about the Brentwood exterior cladding. You are absolutely correct - this galvanized metal is not the final finish on the exterior of the library. It is the framing to which a darker zinc cladding will be attached. This zinc cladding is non reflective. Installation of the zinc cladding has begun on the west face of the building. As the installation of the zinc panels continues to the front of the building you will have a greater idea of the finished product. Please see the photo in the April 12th post to see how the zinc looks.

I note that the moderator did not post the response to the question as to when Brentwood would re-open. Did the Moderator respond individually to your question?

Thank you for all of your comments regarding the re-opening of the Brentwood Branch. We are working very hard to get it ready for the public. It will be a while yet, there is much to be done. We anticipate opening this fall, but a specific date has yet to be selected. Stay tuned, we will post the date on this blog, in local newspapers and at the library itself!

Will Brentwood library host Baby Time in a weekly basis when it reopens?

Currently we are working hard at getting the branch ready for the public. We will be creating a programming schedule, but at this point, nothing is finalized.
With regards to page opportunities, you can submit an application at any branch. All applications are kept for 6 months.
