Brentwood interior pictures
As the construction continues, it is easy to see the progress being made on the exterior of the building. The finishes on the interior of the building are coming along as well. For those of you familiar with the original Brentwood library, this is a shot of the second floor. Once the children's department, this will house the adult collection with the fireplace being the focal point of an intimate reading lounge. The wooden ceiling has been preserved, stripped and sanded, so that the natural beauty of the wood stands out. The windows on the second floor let in an extraordinary amount of natural light, which will make this a very comfortable space in which to relax with a great read.
The addition on the second floor has been built with the idea of complementing the original ceiling on that level. Consequently, there is also a wooden ceiling in this part of the building. The third floor (reserved for staff offices) overlooks the room, and will eventually have a glass wall. The entire intent is to have a feeling of space and light for our customers. The far wall of windows have green translucent glass panels placed in with regular glass to complement the street scape of trees in the neighbourhood.

When will this location be re-opening? Also, will they be hiring new Pages to work at the library?
Thank You

Could you please post an update on the estimated completion date of the library? I tried contacting two people at TPL about the re-opening date, but neither one responded to me. The only info I could find online was 2012 (originally it was June, but this was removed and no new month was stated).

Thank you for your interest in the Brentwood re-opening date.
Brentwood Branch closed for renovations on September 25th, 2010. It has been our experience that major projects such as Brentwood do take approximately two years to complete, and the Brentwood project is proceeding on schedule.
We are looking forward to welcoming you all back to the branch once it is complete.
